Lots On Demand

Lot_Sizes

In addition to traditional jute bags of 60-kg, produced with odorless vegetable oil, Ipanema also exports coffee in bags of 30-kg, meeting demands of roasters that prefer to work with smaller volumes. Clients can also request 60-kg polypropylene bags and plastic liners that help maintain quality.

Specialized equipment also enables shipment of lots in bulk, thereby significantly reducing the logistics costs of the client in terms of maritime freight and road haulage and, above all, costs related to unloading and movement of the cargo

NIMA Packaging System

nima

The NiMA packaging concept is the most sophisticated way to preserve the quality of green coffee in existence.

Coffee naturally tends to lose flavor and becomes lighter in color after one year. In the NIMA system, thanks to a combination of gases that are injected to expel oxygen, the beans maintain their organoleptic characteristics for more than two years. The packages, of 10-kg each, have three protective layers and are further placed in double-walled cardboard boxes, for protection during transportation and storage.

The lot of Ipanema Yellow Icatu, winner of the Rainforest Alliance Annual Cupping 2010, was exported to Australia and New Zealand using this new system.
