| In September, Ipanema awarded prizes to the finalists enrolled in the Composition and Monograph Contest – "Safe Environment – Reality or Fiction?" Children and teenagers of local and state public schools and college students took part in the contest. Prizes were awarded to the first and second finalists, a total of nine prizes for: Creative composition for children in the 1st and 2nd grad of elementary school, Composition, for students in the 3rd and 4th grade, Composition for students in the 5th and 6th grade, Composition for students in the 7th and 8th grade, and for college students. Ipanema intends to stimulate students to read about this theme and to learn about the importance of "Environmental Preservation." Ipanema takes this matter seriously, and within the Projeto Ipê Amarelo, 650,000 nursery trees will be planted in the farm during the next ten years. This year more than 70,000 plants were planted up to now.
