| At Instituto Ipanema, children take environmental preservation seriously. That is why a project was developed for this theme alone. The Sowing Project is part of the activities developed by the Preserving Life Ecological Workshop. “Participants will recycle aluminum cans, prepare vases, plant seeds, and take care of their own vases during the months of August, September and October, following the plants growing process from the time they germinate to the moment they are taken to be planted in the field”, explained Antônio Carlos Michelotto, project coordinator. During the week of December 5-9, 2005, when we commemorate Volunteers’ Day (December 5) and Brazil Wood (December 07) Day, participants of the Education in Action Project (volunteers and users) will visit Ipanema Agrícola S.A. to see and learn about the work developed by the company to preserve and recover the forest reservation areas. In that opportunity, visitors will take their respective trees - that were sowed at the headquarters of the project - to be permanently planted in Ipanema’s soil. |
