| In a partnership with Companhia de Teatro Cena Set, Ipanema will soon sponsor the staging of the play “Alice no mundo da poluição” [“Alice in the World of Pollution”], written by Nivaldo Martins. The educational play will be used as a tool to call attention to environmental conservation. By staging the play, Ipanema and Cena Set hope children, teenagers and adults will have more respect and responsibility for the environment. “Environmental protection is taken very seriously by all of us in Ipanema. It is not by chance that the Ipê Amarelo Reforestation Project was created to plant 650,000 nursery trees in 10 years. We still have 800 hectares reserved for biodiversity preservation; a residues selection collection program, etc. And because of a water recycling and reuse program, we reduced the daily use of water by 1 million liters during the harvest”, stated Milton Verdade, who is responsible for the farms’ certification. |
