| On February 13th, Ipanema turned 35. Since it was founded in 1970, it has been well ahead of its time. Today, its 12 million coffee trees, 120,000 thousand (average) bags a year and 5,500 hectares are responsible for one of the best showcases of the Brazilian coffee industry and production complex. Ipanema was the pioneer in introducing a modern concept of production management, leading to the production and marketing of coffees with distinguishing qualities, high agricultural technology, high productivity, and under professional management. It brought to the world market a tradition of competence and credibility, conquering the respect of its clients and business partners. In addition to its social projects, it implemented reforestation, environmental and preservation programs. Many activities are being organized to commemorate Ipanema’s anniversary during the year.
